Georgia baseball is the No. 7 overall seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament and will host the Athens Regional to open the tournament.
The Bulldogs will open against 4-seed Binghamton, with 2-seed Duke facing 3-seed Oklahoma State in the other game on Friday at Foley Field.
Georgia put itself in position to earn a national top eight seed with a 42-15 record entering the tournament.
“Being a national seed was a goal, you want to have a chance to play at home,” coach Wes Johnson said. “Doesn’t guarantee you’re going to win regionals or super regionals. It’s just something that lets you know, that, yeah, we’re moving in the right direction. It still comes back to playing clean baseball, right?”
