The world is still talking about GTA VI, with the hype only continuing to build after the second trailer dropped a few weeks ago.
As time ticks by, the rumours continue to swirl, with one focused on just how long we’ll be spending in Vice City with Lucia and Jason in the story mode of GTA VI.
According to several rumours, the main story of the game will be one of Rockstar Games’ longest, clocking in at around 45–50 hours.
If true, this would put it above GTA V, which took around 32 hours, though the longest playthrough still goes to Red Dead Redemption 2, which kept players going for about 60 hours.
Of course, this is still just a rumour, but it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see Rockstar Games pull off another huge story, especially if Vice City is as big and dense as many seem to think it is.
It’s worth remembering, also, that playing through the story doesn’t take into account the distractions, side missions, and general shenanigans that play out through the average GTA adventure.
It’s clear that players will be able to immerse themselves in this world for quite some time, and this is before we know what’s happening with the online side of things.
GTA VI is set to feature dual protagonists in love birds Lucia and Jason, so there will likely be two great stories to tell, on top of the crime spree they’ll embark on together.
Despite the recent delay, putting the release back to May 2026, fans are still eager to absorb all they can about the game, dissecting the second trailer to find any and all details possible.
So, while we still have to wait another year until we can play, at least we know the story will be worth the wait.
