One of the LSU women’s basketball team’s top transfer targets is headed elsewhere.
On Wednesday, former Wisconsin forward Serah Williams announced that she had committed to UConn, giving the Huskies some extra size, experience, scoring and rim protection for their run at a repeat national title.
Williams is 6-foot-4, a three-year starter, a two-time member of the All-Big Ten defensive team, and one of the most experienced, productive transfer-portal entries of the 2025 cycle. As a junior, she averaged 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game while converting 49% of her field-goal tries. Her blocks average led the conference in both her freshman (1.9) and sophomore seasons (2.8).

LSU hosted Williams on a visit from April 17-18.
Had coach Kim Mulkey and her staff landed the former Badger, they would’ve begun the 2025-26 season with what would’ve likely been the nation’s No. 1 transfer class.
Last Friday, LSU revealed that it had signed MiLaysia Fulwiley, a former South Carolina star known for her dazzling transition finishes.
The Tigers already had inked Kate Koval — a 6-5 forward who considered LSU in 2024 before she committed to Notre Dame as one of the five best recruits in the nation — and dipped into the mid-major ranks to sign former East Carolina forward Amiya Joyner, a rising senior who can handle the ball, defend, rebound and score around the rim. Last season, she averaged 15.0 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.
Williams, the eighth-best player in ESPN’s transfer rankings, reportedly also considered North Carolina.
