EXCLUSIVE: Michael McGrady (The Perfect Couple) and Timothy Omundson (Psych) have been cast in recurring roles on the upcoming second season of Hulu’s hit thriller Paradise, from creator Dan Fogelman and 20th Television.
This marks Omundson’s third role on a Fogelman show after he starred on ABC’s Galavant and recurred on NBC’s This Is Us.
No one would comment, but I hear that, like fellow new Season 2 recurring players Shailene Woodley and Thomas Doherty, McGrady and Omundson’s arcs are tied to Agent Xavier Collins’ (Sterling K. Brown) mission teed off at the end of the Season 1 finale where he leaves the bunker to look for survivors, including his wife.
As Deadline revealed earlier this week, Doherty is believed to be playing Link, the leader of a biker gang. McGrady and Omundson are said to be playing gang members Geiger, who is Link’s second in commenand, and Chef, respectively.
Paradise’s well-reviewed first season is set in a serene community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But the tranquility explodes when a shocking murder occurs, and a high-stakes investigation unfolds. Brown, James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin and Percy Daggs IV star in Season 1, executive produced by Fogelman, Brown, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, John Hoberg, Jess Rosenthal and Steve Beers.
McGrady was a series regular on Netflix’s hit limited series The Perfect Couple. His recent recurring stints include SEAL Team and Chicago P.D. He is repped by Main Title Entertainment and BRS/Gage.
Psych alum Omundson most recently guest starred as Hephaestus on Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He is repped by Innovative Artists and Water Street Pictures.
