Michigan point guard Tre Donaldson will enter the transfer portal, as first reported by On3.
Donaldson averaged 11.3 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.1 rebounds in 31.1 minutes per game as a junior. The 6-foot-3 guard has one year of eligibility remaining after playing two years at Auburn and one at Michigan.
He was pivotal in Michigan’s postseason run to the Big Ten Tournament title and Sweet Sixteen appearance.
Donaldson helped Michigan win several key games last season, including memorable late-game heroics, but he also slumped for a stretch in Big Ten play. He averaged just 9.1 points, 3.4 assists and 2.4 turnovers with a 45 eFG% over the last 11 games of the regular season.
Michigan added a commitment from North Carolina point guard Elliot Cadeau earlier this week, which would have impacted Donaldson’s role in the 2025-26 season.
Donaldson is the fourth transfer to leave Michigan this offseason, joining sophomore shooter Sam Walters, freshman guard Justin Pippen and Jace Howard (who will pursue a medical redshirt).
